About Elliston Clinic
THE ELLISTON CLINIC:
Now primarily based in Oakura Taranaki, at the Elliston Clinic we aim to provide professional and considerate assessment, treatment and support to people suffering from mental health disorders, psychological distress and emotional, relationship or stress-related problems.
THE CLINICIANS
The clinicians consist of a husband and wife team:-
Dr. Roger Elliott is a psychiatrist with additional post-fellowship training in psychotherapy and supervision.
Sharon Elliott (Whiston) has a background in psychiatric nursing and has worked as a psychotherapist since 1990.
Special Interests
Due to the current pressure of work, Roger Is not now accepting new referrals.
(Though he continues to provide a service for his existing customers both in the Auckland area and in Taranaki).
Sharon continues to accept new referrals in Taranaki. A referral to her as the psychotherapist/counsellor, would involve an initial interview to ensure both an understanding of the problems and mutual treatment expectations.
Both clinicians have training in supervision and offer a service to other health (and related) professionals.

WHAT WE OFFER:
The clinic offers assistance to those suffering from psychological problems, stress reactions, relationship difficulties (including separation and divorce), grief issues and trauma related problems, as well as providing an assessment and treatment service for people with psychiatric disorders/mental ill health (such as depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder or post traumatic stress disorder).
REFERRAL EXPECTATIONS
Clients may 'self refer' to Sharon by contacting her directly or be referred by other health professionals such as GPs, counsellors/therapists, via the public health system or through their EAP service.
CANCELLATIONS
At least one full working day's notice is expected prior to cancellation of a booked appointment, otherwise a cancellation or non attendance charge will be made (1/2 fee).
PHARMACY
There are pharmacies in both Drury Village & Oakura Village.
EMERGENCIES
In the event of a psychiatric crisis we advise contacting your local district health board crisis service.

Initial consultation $350.00 inc GST (1-1.5hrs). Not currently available.
30 minute review $145.00 inc GST
1 hour review $200.00 inc GST
Psychotherapy $175.00 inc GST (1 hour).
NB. Psychiatrists' fees are often at least partially covered by medical insurance (but check your policy).
