ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, a common behavioural disorder. People who have ADHD can be easily distracted, act without thinking and be very active. The main subgroups of ADHD are

inattentiveness

. Patients can lean towards one type or a combination of all three. Children with suspected ADHD are referred by a GP to a specialist that specialises in behavioural disorders such as a

child psychiatrist

or a

developmental paediatrician

. Treatment can include medication,
