Kidney Stone Disease
A Kidney Specialist or a Urologist will usually treat Kidney Stone Diseases (KSD). A
kidney stone
is a solid piece of material that occurs in the urinary tract. They typically form in the kidney and leave the body in the urine stream. Small kidney stones may pass without causing symptoms, but if it grows to more than 5 millimeters it can cause blockage of the ureter resulting in severe pain in the lower back or abdomen.
Kidney Stone Treatment
can range from medication through to surgery.
