neurology

ophthalmology
concerned with eye symptoms caused by the nervous system. Symptoms assessed and treated by
neuro-ophthalmologists
are
optic nerve problems
,
vision loss
due to brain injuries, unexplained vision loss, disorders of the lids and pupils,
double vision
or a nerve transmission issue called
myasthenia gravis
. Patients are referred to neuro-ophthalmologists if they are suspected to have
high intracranial pressure
or vision issues relating to
brain tumours
.
