Neurointervention
Neurointervention is a minimally invasive surgical technique for disordered blood vessels in the brain and spine. A catheter is inserted through a small incision into a vein and directed to the surgical site.
Imaging technology
is used to view the catheter inside the patient.
Vascular surgeons
and
neurosurgeons
specialising in interventional techniques perform surgery on patients who have suffered
strokes
,
brain aneurysms
,
vertebral artery diseases
or
spinal compression fractures
. As neurointervention surgery is minimally invasive, recovery times are quicker than after more traditional surgeries with less post-operative pain and complications.
