About Dr Marcia Sonneveld
Marcia trained at Melbourne University Medical School graduating in 1976, and did her internship at Austin Hospital before moving to NZ in 1978. She is a Fellow of the Royal NZ College of General Practitioners, and has done postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynaecology, and sexual health, and has done this work alongside a busy general practice for many years.
She has always had an interest in all things related to skin. She worked as an associate with a dermatologist in Napier for twelve years and completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology through Cardiff University in 2007, which she passed with Distinction and topped her class.
She has since also completed an Advanced Clinical Certificate in Dermoscopy, and an Advanced Clinical Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery.
The majority of Marcia's work is now in skin cancer medicine and practical dermatology, the latter dealing with conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema and other skin disorders.
Marcia is a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider for general dermatology and skin lesions.
