Referral Guidance
Please obtain patient consent for a teledermatology report and to be contacted via email, this is not an in-person appointment.
We charge a fee of $165 per consult and we arrange payment from the patient on receipt of your referral.
Obtain clinical photographs to accompany your referral. Provide at least 3 photos per lesion/area:
1. Establishing Shot - shows the lesion/rash in relation to the whole body part (e.g., full arm, face, or torso).
2. Regional Shot (medium distance) - shows the lesion/rash and surrounding skin.
3. Close-up (detail image) - as close as possible while still in focus.
- Please include as much clinical detail in your referral as possible including details of the presenting problem, time course, symptoms, distribution, body surface area, examination findings, treatments already tried and response, past medical history, medications, family and social history, patient occupation and results of investigations.
- Please advise us if you/the patient wish for the referral to be forwarded to a dermatologist for an in-person appointment if on triage this is considered more appropriate.
- Upload referral and photographs (note Dr Kennedys location for in-person appointments is Omnicare Health, Auckland - please do not use this location for DermaLink).
- Referrals are reviewed and if accepted we will contact the patient via email, if they wish to proceed we will arrange consent and payment directly from the patient.
- Please ensure the correct patient email address is included with your referral, and the patient agrees to receiving emails from DermaLink NZ.
- Reports are returned to you and your patient. In most cases we aim to complete reports within 5-7 days of receipt of patient conformation and payment.
