Specialist Training
After working as a junior doctor in Australia & Ireland Dr Lampen-Smith returned to New Zealand to specialise in Gastroenterology. During training she achieved a Masters in Palliative Care in End-Stage Liver Disease and completed a Hepatology Fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. Since 2016, she has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty where she has held leadership roles, including Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, Clinical Lead of the Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty Bowel Screening Programme & Medical Leader of Medical Services. Dr Lampen-Smith is keen to support patients living remote from Specialist services - telehealth follow-up appointments are available.
