About Dr Lung Choi

Clinical Director and co-Founder of Grafton Medical

Born in Hong Kong and raised on the North Shore, Lung obtained his medical degree from Wellington Clinical School, University of Otago in 2008.

He subsequently returned to Auckland and worked for 3 years across various adult and paediatric hospital departments. After seeing many preventable hospital admissions and knowing general practice is at the forefront of preventive medicine, Dr Lung decided to specialise in general practice - a specialty where he can form strong therapeutic relationships with patients and make a difference to their lives.

During his GP training that started in 2012, Lung worked at Kowhai Surgery at Warkworth, Tamaki Family Health in Panmure and The Doctors at Fred Thomas Drive in Takapuna. In 2016, after obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal College of General Practice New Zealand, he joined Upper Harbour Medical Centre in Hobsonville as a partner and worked there for 2 years.

In 2018, Lung and his practice manager Janice saw the opportunity to introduce a modern general practice to complement the existing health services at 8 Nugent Street. Their vision is to open a progressive clinic that provides individualised evidence based care to patients from all backgrounds.

When hes not at work, you will find Lung busy at the gym, playing racket sports or spending time with his partner Harry and family.
