about Dr Samuel Mayhew

A University of Auckland Med School graduate, Sam had the pleasure of living all around New Zealand following his fathers Career as a GP and Sports Doctor and Mother a Teacher and Principal. From the age of 15, he returned to the sunny North Shore of Auckland and has enjoyed living there ever since.

Sam is a Specialist in General Practice and Skin Cancer. His special interests are in surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancers and medical dermatology. He is also a Full Member of NZ Skin Cancer Doctors.

Additionally, Sam has worked in the field of Sports Medicine for the past decade working with teams such as NZ Warriors, NZ Tall Blacks, NZ Breakers and NZ Surf Lifesaving Black Fins, as well as team Doctor for the NZ Kiwis Rugby League team. Currently Sam is the Medical Director for the High Performance Triathlon NZ squad and Golf NZ national squad.

Sam is passionate about landscape photography and our own country beautifully delivers as the perfect host. In addition, Sam proudly competes as a dedicated Surf Lifesaver and NZ Ocean Ski Paddler, and you will find him regularly after work training out of Mairangi Bay SLSC.
