About Mr Rowan French
Rowan French is a General, Gastrointestinal, Bariatric and Endocrine surgeon with a strong interest in metabolic surgery.
He is the president of the New Zealand Association of General Surgeons, a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Court of Examiners, and has significant leadership roles at the DHB.
His primary interests include the treatment of abdominal complaints, gastrointestinal cancer, gastrointestinal endoscopy and the surgical management of obesity.
He has trained extensively in these areas around New Zealand, and returned to Hamilton after working for 2 years in the Lakes region. His other interests include surgical nutrition, intravenous nutrition, and governance in health care.
