Dr Guy Fisher is a specialist gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in Auckland, with a focused practice in endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, and complex pelvic pain. He is the only gynaecologist in New Zealand to hold both the AGES-accredited Advanced Endoscopic Surgery Training Program (AATP) and the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) - allowing expert pelvic ultrasound to be performed directly within consultations, enabling accurate diagnosis and surgical mapping without the need for multiple external referrals or pre-appointment imaging.
He holds AGES Level 6 accreditation - the highest laparoscopic surgical tier in Australasia - covering complex and Stage IV endometriosis including disease involving the bowel, bladder, and deep pelvic structures.

Ultrasound Expertise

Dr Fisher holds a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) through the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine, with fellowship training in advanced gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). This allows specialist-level pelvic ultrasound - including detailed endometriosis mapping, adenomyosis assessment, and fibroid characterisation - to be performed and interpreted within the consultation itself, often removing the need for MRI or additional imaging prior to surgery.

Fertility Care

Dr Fisher provides integrated fertility and gynaecology care at Fertility Associates Auckland - New Zealand's largest fertility provider. He holds a Master of Reproductive Medicine with Excellence (UNSW) and works at the intersection of gynaecological surgery and reproductive medicine, managing patients through the full continuum from diagnosis to treatment.

For patients where endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, or other gynaecological conditions are affecting fertility, Dr Fisher offers a coordinated one-stop model - combining specialist pelvic ultrasound, surgical optimisation where indicated, and integrated IVF and assisted reproductive care. This avoids the need for multiple specialist referrals and ensures gynaecological and fertility management are aligned from the outset.

A standard referral letter is all that is required. A pre-appointment ultrasound is not necessary - Dr Fisher performs advanced pelvic ultrasound directly within consultations.
