about Nick Bedford
Nick is a graduate of Otago Medical School and did the bulk of his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Wellington region. He finished his training at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne, before undertaking a further 2 years of Fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgery and pelvic floor repair. He returned to Wellington in 2012.
His special interests include laparoscopic and vaginal surgery for the management of prolapse and urinary incontinence; the investigation and management of pelvic pain; and options for helping with heavy and/or painful periods. He also has experience in the investigation and management of infertility.
He works collaboratively with other Gynaecologists and has fostered excellent relationships with Physiotherapists, Pain Management specialists, Urologists and Colorectal surgeons. He is more than happy to provide reassurance, advice, or a second opinion. In addition to his private Gynaecology practice at Wakefield Hospital, he is employed as a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at CCDHB. He is married with two children and a keen mountainbiker.
