Dr Rajeev Rajagopal is a New Zealand-trained Haematologist and has been working as a Consultant Haematologist at Middlemore Hospital since 2012. Rajeev completed undergraduate medical training in India before moving to New Zealand in 2006. His haematology specialist training was at Christchurch Hospital and Palmerston North Hospital.
Rajeev takes an active role in clinical trials and is a principal investigator in a number of trials in myeloma, acute myeloid leukaemia and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Rajeev was instrumental in establishing Patient Blood Management program at Middlemore Hospital in 2017 and is the joint clinical lead of this new service initiative. He is also the clinical lead of the blood bank at Middlemore Hospital.
Rajeev is a keen cricketer and currently leading the Papatoetoe cricket clubs senior grade side, having played at a professional level in the past..
