We assess & manage a wide range of injuries & conditions (ACC, AE & Private) for both adults & children. This includes most kinds of hand or arm problems, as well as injuries caused at work, sports or home, managed both conservatively & surgically. Some examples are:
- Fractures & dislocations
- Crush injuries, lacerations and amputations
- Sprains & strains such as wrist sprain, skiers thumb and tennis elbow
- Tendon and nerve injuries
- OA, often in the thumb, and RA
- Nerve compressions such as CTS, cubital tunnel
- RSI (repetitive strain injury) or OOS (occupational overuse syndrome)
- painful hand and forearm conditions eg CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome)
Treatments are patient-centred and can include:
- Assessment and diagnosis
- Tailored rehab program
- Wound & scar management
- Custom-made splints & casts
- Fit & Issue braces
- Discuss preventative management
- Ergonomic advice
- Remove casts
- Refer for x-ray or ultrasound
- Refer to a hand surgeon
