We provide an expedited referral process. A one-stop clinic for rapid assessment and diagnosis.
Through the Southern Cross Head and Neck Clinic, referrers can access a coordinated diagnosis and treatment planning service. For many patients, specialist assessment, imaging review, biopsy (if required), pathology, diagnosis and treatment planning can be progressed in a single appointment where clinically appropriate.
Referrers and patients are kept informed throughout, and defined next steps are provided following the assessment.
Patient-centred care
- A multidisciplinary team of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck, and Oral & Maxillofacial specialists with international experience comprise the clinic team
- Any confirmed cancer diagnosis cases are reviewed through a Multidisciplinary Meeting (MDM) for evidence-based review and validation.
- This involves collaboration of surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, pathologists, allied health and other sub-specialists in treatment plan reviews
- Access to a range of surgical options, including robotic surgery, within Southern Cross Healthcares Auckland facilities where appropriate
