Based in Devonport and previously owned by the Royal NZ Navy, this unit is now owned and operated by Waitemata DHB.
Together with the Christchurch Hyperbaric Unit, which services Wellington and the South Island, we provide a nationwide, 24hr – 7days a week hyperbaric medicine service.

Our twin-lock multiplace chamber can treat up to ten patients a day, and we welcome referrals from hospital and private specialists and GPs. Indications for hyperbaric oxygen are evidence-based, and include the following:

• Chronic/non-healing wounds (arterial/venous/diabetic/post- operative)
• Radiation injuries (cystitis/ proctitis/ORN)
• Bubble injuries (decompression sickness/iatrogenic)
• Carbon monoxide poisoning
• Necrotising infections
