I am an UK (Oxford ) trained nephrologist (kidney) and general internal medicine specialist.

I completed my MBBS in India in January 1997 and left for the UK in the later part of that year. I did my renal and internal medicine registrar training programme in Oxford. During my 15 years in the UK NHS, I have worked in various regions including the West Midlands (Wolverhampton, Dudley and Shrewsbury), Mersey (Liverpool), Scotland (Aberdeen-where I was a PhD research fellow), and the South (Oxford and Reading). I worked for about two years as a consultant in the UK prior to moving to New Zealand in 2012 with my family, attracted by the better work-life balance in this country.

I am currently working as a consultant nephrologist at Waikato Hospital and have recently established the Waikato Kidney Clinic in Hamilton East for private referrals. I have an interest in all aspects of renal and internal medicine and I am excited to bring a new skill-set to the existing pool of private physicians in the Waikato region.

Renal: All fields. Investigation & management of: Hypertension, Glomerulonephritis, Acute Kidney Injury, Chronic Kidney Disease, Haematuria, Proteinuria, Kidney Stone, Transplantation & dialysis.
General Internal Medicine: I have a keen interest in the management of patients with multiple complex general medical problems.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Long-COVID & related conditions: I am one of the very few physicians with an interest & expertise in this area. I welcome patients from all over New Zealand with these conditions as I do online consultations as well.
