about Dr Kolin Foo
Dr Foo graduated from the University of Otago in 1993 and subsequently received his ophthalmic training in Wellington and became a Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2002. He underwent two further years of subspecialty training in Melbourne and Manchester before returning to Wellington.
Dr Foo has a special interest in the areas of micro-incisional cataract surgery and treatment of retinal diseases. He was the first person to introduce photodynamic therapy (PDT) to Wellington for the treatment of macular degeneration. He uses the most up-to-date and effective medical and surgical treatments for retinal disorders.
He currently works as a consultant ophthalmologist and a senior lecturer at Wellington Hospital and consults privately from The Terrace Eye Centre, Boulcott Clinic (Lower Hutt) and Masterton.
