Through oDocs Eye Care, he launched the world's first smartphone retinal imaging system. oDocs Eye Care is also a research institution and has issued over a million dollars in grants and funding research ideas.

Dr Hong is an internationally trained consultant (Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Ireland), specialising in cornea and anterior segment as well as cataract.
He is an advocate of global eye health, and a pioneer in novel ocular technology & surgical techniques.
