about Mr Adam Durrant
Mr Adam Durrant is a New Zealand trained orthopaedic surgeon. Having graduated from Otago Medical School and then the New Zealand Orthopaedic Associations advanced surgical training program he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2009. Subsequent to this, Adam spent two years completing further subspecialist training in hand and upper limb surgery in New Zealand, Australia and North America. During this time abroad he furthered his skills in all areas of hand and upper limb surgery, working at the Royal Adelaide and Modbury Hospitals in Australia and the renowned PanAm Sports Clinic and Concordia Hospitals in Canada. At these institutions Adam worked under the guidance of surgeons who are world leaders in hand, shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery.
Adams training has covered all aspects of hand and upper limb surgery and due to the specialist nature of this branch of orthopaedic surgery he now confines his practice to hand and upper limb. By focusing his scope of practice, Adam is able to provide a high standard of care and maintain a high level of awareness of the developing trends and techniques within this exciting subspecialty.
Whilst overseas Adam was privileged to be involved in ground breaking research into the micro anatomy of the distal radius, as well as studies investigating the bony morphology of the shoulder joint and its relationship with its return to function after shoulder surgery.
