about Mr Colin Brown
Colin is an Otolaryngologist specialising exclusively in Ear Surgery. With over 25 years as a consultant at the Northern
Cochlear Implant Program, University of Auckland, and Starship, he serves as a Director of the Hearing House, charity, hosting the Northern Cochlear Implant Programme. He is a long term peer reviewer for the International Journal of Pediatric Otolaryngology and an innovator in developing new surgical techniques to manage long-term otitis media and reduce post-surgical healing times.
Colins specialised expertise in reconstructing ear canals for children has uniquely positioned him to address the similar anatomical challenges faced by New Zealand surfers with ear canal exostoses, making him a leading specialist in surfers ear surgery.
Colin holds an MB ChB from the University of Otago and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
