Brandon is a consultant Otolaryngologist at the McIndoe Clinic and has been in private practice since 2001, with his subspeciality being Rhinology. He is a consultant surgeon at Grace Hospital in Tauranga.
Brandon gained his undergraduate degree at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, completing his MBChB in 1985. He spent 12 months as a House Surgeon in Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town and 6 months as a paediatric house surgeon in a rural African hospital.
Brandon then travelled and worked as a rural general practitioner in Saskatchewan, Canada before immigrating to New Zealand working as a Resident Medical Officer in Whanganui, before working as a rural general practitioner in Te Kaha, Eastern Bay of Plenty for 2 years.
He then began his surgical training ultimately specializing in Otolaryngology, gaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1998. He completed his fellowship year in Glasgow in 1999 before returning to New Zealand.
Brandon was a consultant Otolaryngologist at the Bay of Plenty District Health board for 23 years.
Brandon has significant expertise in rhinology with a particular interest in nasal and sinus disease. He works collaboratively with local Maxillofacial and ophthalmology colleagues in joint cases.
He is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Rhinologic Society and the American Rhinologic Society.
