about Dr Kiren Dulku

Dr. Kiren Dulku is an Otolaryngologist specialising in Otology and Paediatric ENT committed to providing high-quality care to her patients. A fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr. Dulku is also a full member of the New Zealand Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.

Her journey into medicine is both unique and inspiring. Dr. Dulku began her academic career with a degree in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford, followed by a successful career in journalism. Her experiences in healthcare reporting ignited her passion for medicine, leading her to pursue a medical degree from Guy's, King's and St. Thomas' School of Medicine in London, which she completed in 2005.

Dr. Dulku has undergone extensive training in Otolaryngology across Australasia, culminating in an internationally recognised subspecialty fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery at Christchurch Hospital in 2023. She has since returned to Tauranga, the hometown of her Kiwi husband, to take up a consultant post at Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals. Her private rooms run out of McIndoe Clinic, where she collaborates with esteemed colleagues, including rhinology specialist Dr. Brandon Hitchcock, maxillofacial surgeons, and a respiratory physician specializing in sleep medicine. This clinic serves as a hub of comprehensive care and excellence in the Bay of Plenty.

Dr. Dulku emphasizes a collaborative approach to patient care, valuing her relationships with patients, their families, and healthcare providers at both primary and tertiary levels. Her close working relationship with colleagues at Starship Hospital exemplifies her commitment to delivering holistic care.
