Dr Kimberly Aikins

I completed my undergraduate degree in my home town of Toronto, Canada, and ventured to Sydney, Australia for my medical degree as an International Merit Scholarship recipient. I was lucky to be placed at Starship for my first year of Paediatric Surgical training and fell in love with NZ. Throughout my training, I worked in Sydney and Melbourne, and following completion of my Fellowship I spent 18 months gaining further specialised Paediatric Urology experience at Starship.

Paediatric Urology:

• Hypospadias & other genital anomalies (male & female)
• Kidney & bladder problems (antenatal & post-natally identified)
• Hydronephrosis & other kidney disorders
• Recurrent urinary tract infections
• Minimally invasive surgery and cystoscopy
• Circumcision (medically indicated)

General Paediatric Surgery:

• Inguinal hernia and hydroceles
• Umbilical hernia
• Undescended testes
• Skin and subcutaneous lesions including vascular anomalies
