about Dr Estee Chan
Dr Chan grew up in Auckland and graduated from the University of Auckland School of Medicine. She received rheumatology specialist training in Auckland and Christchurch before becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2015. She received further post-graduate fellowship training at the Guys and St Thomas Hospitals London in subspecialty areas of inflammatory arthritis, lupus and vasculitis under the tutelage of Professor Bruce Kirkham and Professor David DCruz before returning to New Zealand to practise in 2017.
Her subspecialty interests include rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathy, lupus and musculoskeletal ultrasound application in rheumatology.
Dr Chan holds part time consultant rheumatologist positions at both Health NZ Auckland and Health NZ Counties Manukau.
She is heavily involved in the training of the next generation of rheumatologists, being the current Deputy Chair of the New Zealand Rheumatology Training Subcommittee of the RACP.
She speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
She is available for urgent appointments.
