Ausha DeSilva
MBBS, DFFP, CCT (UK), MRCOG, FRANZCOG

Ausha completed a Fellowship in advanced laparoscopy awarded to him by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy at the Womens and Childrens Hospital in Adelaide, Australia in 2014. He is experienced in a variety of advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures including Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH). He is experienced in caring for women with complex gynaecological problems. At present, Ausha is a Senior Medical Officer at Hutt Valley DHB and also the Clinical Lead for Gynaecology.

Ausha completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the United Kingdom and was admitted to the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC), in 2014. He then served as a substantive Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at NHS Highland. After completing 15 years of service in the National Health Service, he moved to New Zealand in 2018.

​Ausha is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago, Wellington. He has also served as a Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Aberdeen, UK. He is a member of the board of assessors of Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and an accredited training supervisor of the postgraduate trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

​Ausha has been a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK since 2010 and also a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Ausha also holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual Health and Reproductive Healthcare, UK.

Aushas practice excludes colposcopy.

Ausha also provides private Obstetric care working as part of the Complete Obstetrics team.

Gemma Nightingale
MBChB, MRCOG, CCT (UK), FRANZCOG

Gemma graduated from the University of Manchester Medical School (UK) in 2007. After completing her general medical and surgical jobs, she started Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty training in 2009. Working in a variety of small hospitals and large tertiary units she gained broad experience within the specialty and qualified to be on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (GMC). She completed advanced training modules in 'Urogynaecology and Vaginal Surgery' and 'Advanced Labour Ward Practice'.

Gemma moved to New Zealand mid 2020 having secured a substantive Senior Medical Officer role in Hutt Valley DHB.

Gemma has a special interest in prolapse, incontinence and minimal access surgery. She has won several national and international awards for presenting her research findings and has published numerous peer reviewed papers. Gemma is an active committee member for the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA).

Gemma works with patients to optimise conservative measures before starting medications or discussing surgery. She is a confident surgeon performing hysteroscopic, laparoscopic (key hole), open and vaginal surgery.

Gemma's practice excludes colposcopy.

Gemma also provides private Obstetric care working as part of the Complete Obstetrics team.
