Dr Baswati Sahoo is a cataract and glaucoma surgeon with over 15 years experience in Ophthalmology in India and the United Arab Emirates.
An academic and teacher by nature, she is the recipient of the A. D. Patwardhan Gold medal from Pune University for excelling in Ophthalmology.
A thorough clinician with empathy towards her patients, she is held in high regard among her colleagues and her patients, for her professional acumen and skills. Her ability to understand and relate well, particularly with older people, hails from her training in Health Care of the Elderly.
Baswati worked as a General Practitioner in the Indian Air Force for almost six years. She is a sub-specialist in Glaucoma and Anterior Segment and has special training in complicated cataract and glaucoma surgery. Baswati is a Consultant at Hawkes Bay Hospital.
