Mr Michael Flint is a highly experienced Auckland-based orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years of specialist expertise in hip and knee joint replacement, as well as complex musculoskeletal tumor surgery.
A pioneer in advanced joint reconstruction, Mr Flint has been performing Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacement since 2019 and is one of New Zealands most experienced anterior hip surgeons. His practice incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including robotic-assisted total and partial knee replacements, to optimize patient outcomes, accelerate recovery, and improve long-term implant longevity.
With a dual sub-specialty focus, Mr Flint also provides comprehensive, tertiary-level care for benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors, working closely within multidisciplinary networks.

Primary Clinical Interests:
Hip Conditions:
Advanced hip arthritis, hip pain, avascular necrosis, and primary
Direct Anterior Total Hip Replacement.
Knee Conditions:
Knee osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, and Robotic-Assisted Total and Partial Knee Replacement. Meniscal and ligament injuries.
Musculoskeletal Oncology:
Evaluation and surgical management of bone and soft
tissue tumors (benign and malignant).

Accepted: Urgent referrals for suspected or confirmed musculoskeletal tumors, or acute, severe joint presentations requiring rapid stabilization, will be accommodated
on a priority basis.
Please note: General orthopaedic referrals outside of hip/knee arthroplasty, joint pain, and
tumor surgery (e.g., general hand, foot/ankle, shoulder/elbow or spinal conditions) fall
outside Mr Flint's current scope of practice.
