Exceptional care that makes a difference

In 2021, Mercy Hospital Dunedin celebrates 85 years of caring for the people of Otago and Southland.

Much has changed since the Sisters of Mercy established a surgical hospital on Royal Terrace in 1936, but some things stay the same.

Our commitment to excellence has not wavered.
Our professional and highly skilled staff work together
towards our shared purpose Exceptional care that makes a difference.

We remain a not-for-profit organisation and invest significantly in our community through charitable
