Specialist Training
Dr Chen comes from California, having graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree, then obtaining his psychiatric training at Loma Linda University Medical Centre. Since moving to New Zealand in 2006, he has spent 17 years working in outpatient, inpatient, emergency, & rural sectors for the District Health Board in New Zealand as a consultant psychiatrist, during which time he has helped a wide variety of patients with complex mental health presentations across all age populations. He has also enjoyed working closely with training & teaching medical students & interns, & provided educational talks to the community on mental health conditions.
