Dementia is the umbrella term for symptoms affecting the functionality of the brain. The risk of developing Dementia increases with age, however it is dependent on multiple factors including genetics and environmental influence. can be used to determine any other disorders that may be influencing the patient’s symptoms or to diagnose the type of dementia. A patient can be referred to a

geriatrician
or
psychiatrist
to help diagnose and manage dementia or Alzheimer’s.
