about Dr John Perry

John is a graduate of the Auckland Medical School & completed specialist training in Gastroenterology in Auckland, Australia & the UK. He did fellowships in liver disease at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney & in inflammatory bowel disease at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK.
John has expertise in managing a range of GI disorders. His interests include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Chronic Diarrhoea, Gastro-oesophageal reflux, Bowel Cancer Screening & Liver Disease.
John is an accomplished endoscopist & performs both gastroscopy & colonoscopy to a very high standard. He was involved in the Waitemata Bowel Screening Pilot & is a firm believer in ongoing audit to maintain professional standards in colonoscopy.
John is a full affiliated provider with Southern Cross for all aspects of his work. He welcomes referrals to clinic as well as direct referrals for endoscopic procedures. These can be done with standard sedation or under propofol with an anaesthetist, according to the patients wishes
