recurrent pregnancy loss
(RPL), is having usually three or more early miscarriages (up to 13 weeks) or two or more late miscarriages (13-20 weeks). It is regarded as a form of
infertility
, and may be due to chromosome abnormalities that make it impossible for the foetus to develop or advanced maternal and paternal age. Testing can help determine whether there is a cause for the miscarriages however sometimes there is no obvious cause.
