Male Infertility – Urological
Infertility
is defined as the failure to
conceive
a child despite one year of regular unprotected intercourse. There are a wide number of reasons for
male infertility
. Some causes could be smoking, obesity or stress and some may be urological problems that prevent the
sperm
from being produced and ejaculated normally. A
Urologist
will probably order a set of tests – blood, which will check hormone levels, Urine, which will check testosterone levels, Diabetes or Kidney disease, and,
semen
analysis which will reveal the health of the sperm. Treatment can range from behavioural changes, medication to surgical procedures.
