Otologists engage in the medical and surgical treatment of ear diseases including the removal of cancers invading the bone around the ear and cochlear implantation for hearing rehabilitation. Other services include grommets, ear drum repair, cholesteatoma, mastoid surgery, cosmetic ear surgery, cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing implants.

Otolaryngology deals with diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT). Services provided by ENT specialists may include otitis media, grommets, ear drum repair, cholesteatoma, mastoid surgery, surfers ear, congenital ear deformities, cosmetic ear surgery, ear tumours and skin disorders, hearing reconstruction, cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing implants.

Neurotology

Neurotology is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of neurological (nervous system) disorders of the ear. Conditions treated by neurotologists may include balance disorder, dizziness, tumours, injuries to the face and paralysis or other conditions relating to the facial nerve.

Paediatric Ear Nose & Throat

Services may include treatment for ear infection, otitis media, grommets, glue ear, cholesteatoma, congenital ear defomities

Deaf & Hearing Support

Including support organisations such as Deaf Aotearoa NZ and Hearing Association of NZ Inc, hearing therapy services and hearing dogs.
